Ahoy, CS4A Members!
By now, you're aware that Catalina Yachts and True North powerboats have been sold to Michael Reardon, founder and CEO of Daedalus Yachts (see Catalina Yachts Enters a New Era Under Daedalus Yachts' Michael Reardon) and likely are wondering what happened to the summer edition of the Catalina Mainsheet and how we'll be affected by the sale.
According to Catalina Mainsheet publisher, David Landis, the new owner wants to continue to publish the magazine. It is important to everyone involved, but they are in a transition period that put everything on temporary hold. He says that the edition is ready to send to the printer and is awaiting the final go-ahead. His acquisition of Catalina and True North reflects a commitment not just to legacy, but to growth-through design, manufacturing, and investment in people.
Both brands will continue operations from their current base in Largo, Florida, and Reardon has pledged to retain the existing workforce and dealer network, while investing in new model development across both lines. Since Daedalus Yachts produces zero emissions cats, future Catalina development will be interesting to watch.
So, we expect that the Association activity will continue, while waiting for the new edition to be released.
Best regards,
Jon Arck

The association was formed in 2021 when the International Catalina 400/445 Association, the International Catalina 42/425 Association and the International Catalina 440 Association merged.
The association is an important part of the Catalina community, providing social, technical and educational opportunities for its members.
There is always an instant and easy camaraderie and pride among Catalina owners beyond the boats and cruising plans. Most of us have previously had one or more smaller boats, have been sailing a long time and have enjoyed other boating associations.
The purpose of the Association is:
We welcome you to join the Association; your contributions will help greatly in the success of our association. We value our members and want you to feel like a part of our sailing family.
As a member, you will automatically receive a subscription to the Catalina owners' magazine Catalina Mainsheet, of which we are justifiably proud. We will send occasional mailings as well, including miscellaneous announcements and registration forms for association meetings, rendezvouz and regattas.
Feel free to contact us at any time for any information you need. We are always eager to help. We are receptive to new ideas and would be happy to hear from you. Don't hesitate to contact any of us by way of our email addresses in this C4S website!
