Boom Brake

I used a $35 dollar stainless steel Rescue 8 rated at 11000 lbs.
The piece of starboard with the fingers cut out is used to prevent the block from touching the gel coat and keeps the line off as well. Starboard boom brake attachment is to cabin top track. The bottom line in the photo goes to the boom brake and the top line goes to a spare block at the base of the mast and back to a rope clutch. Port side attachment with white starboard with rounded edge to prevent rope from cutting.
