Aft Berth Bunk

We needed to come up with a solution to have the two boys (7 & 3) share the aft cabin on Salacia. We have opted to have a custom bunk made. It will be removable, but secure for passage underway. We are taking the opportunity to build in some more storage atop the starboard shelf that runs the length of the berth and just beneath the bunk. The bunk will be as wide as the vanity bureau at the forward end of the berth. Once built we will have a custom mattress made up (we always use Portland Mattress) and a lee sheet. We are looking forward to both sleeping in the Pullman berth without little fists and feet beating us up through the night ;)
The cubby space below is proving to be a fantastic add-on and our oldest loves the bunk. As he grows, he will move to the lower berth, and the younger chap will take the upper bunk. @Nick Sissine who built the bunk here in Port Townsend, WA for us did an amazing job!
